A Brief Note about Us ......... From September 2007 David and Ann Rees began to explore the concept of active existential phenomenology as a way of unika - a holding of light to the human experience. February 2008 begins the consolidation of that approach. As of June 2008 we are no longer counselors.
We neither bill insurance nor do we do mental health diagnosis or counseling. We ALWAYS refer to appropriate professionals.
unika; one who holds up a light to let one see anything As of June 2008 we are no longer counselors.

| David Lewis Rees is an existential phenomenologist whose skills and style of therapy developed from involvement with people and projects in various cultures and countries, including teaching and personnel management. His M.A. thesis and on-going interests are in the field of existential sexuality, particularly as it provides meaning for the experience-behavior in the life of each individual. His local experience includes an internship at Seattle Counseling Service (June 1988 - May 1989) and employment at Seattle Children's Home as a Case Manager and as a Residential Therapist (1986-8). For some fifteen months until June 1990 he was employed, part-time, at the University of Washington as an Assessor with the Aries research project. He works with his wife Ann Rees in their private practise which has offices in Seattle and Federal Way Because of my life experience in various cultures, my philosophical perspective, and my Masters level training in Seattle University's Program of Existential Phenomenological Therapeutic Psychology, I describe myself as an Existential Phenomenologist. Ann Rees still works with individuals encountering sexual dysfunction or inappropriate behaviors but no longer accepts clients for evaluation or treatment She has had extensive experience in individual and group therapy. Her M.A. thesis and present research is in the field of existential sexuality with particular reference to the family. From 1985 through 1989 she was a supervisor on the crisis and counseling service of Seattle Counseling Service. She still maintains close contact with that agency. With her husband David Rees she has her own private practise as an existential phenomenology in Seattle. All treatment and diagnosis issues are referred to appropriate professionals.
